About the role

We’re hiring an experienced BD operator to 10x partner pipeline creation and conversion over the next three years. You’ll run targeted outreach, shape compelling narratives, coordinate cross-functional evaluation projects, and help close multi-million USD platform collaborations and discovery partnerships.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the top of funnel: Build targeted lists, run outbound campaigns, qualify leads, and book high-quality meetings with pharma/biotech and data partners.
  • Advance opportunities: Run discovery, map stakeholders, define value hypotheses, and keep momentum from intro → proposal → negotiation support → close.
  • Build materials that win: Create partner decks, one-pagers, proposals, and case narratives; tailor messages for therapeutic areas and buyer personas.
  • Run partner projects: Coordinate NDAs, diligence requests, and pilot/evaluation workstreams with Science/Engineering; define success criteria and timelines.
  • Manage the pipeline: Maintain CRM hygiene, forecast, and drive weekly pipeline reviews with clear next steps and metrics.
  • Market intel: Track R&D priorities, data assets, and competitor moves; surface insights that shape targeting and messaging.
  • Represent Pheiron: Lead calls, demos, and conference meetings; follow through with crisp notes and action items.

Your background looks something like:

  • 4–8+ years in BD/alliances, strategy & ops, or consulting with hands-on deal execution in biotech/pharma, data providers, or healthcare AI.
  • Proven ability to source, qualify, and progress opportunities independently in fast-moving, ambiguous settings.
  • Strong structured problem-solving and written storytelling; you can turn complex science into crisp, persuasive narratives.
  • Ability to quickly take ownership, lead processes, act as sparring partner for leadership/founder team, strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with biotech BD/process (NDAs, MSAs/SOWs, diligence, procurement) and comfort collaborating with scientific/technical teams.
  • Bonus: MBA (INSEAD/IESE/etc.) or equivalent, experience with consortia/biobanks/multi-omic data, startup experience, and an existing network in pharma/biotech BD.
